The navigation in Google Maps for Android just got better as it will now automatically route you around adverse traffic conditions in areas where traffic conditions are tracked.
The Google Mobile Blog details how Maps now uses both real-time and historical traffic data to automatically provide the fastest navigation route given driving conditions.
Google Maps has provided a layer of traffic conditions on maps for a while, but this is the first time the information has been used in devising navigation routes.
The new feature is active in North America and Europe only.
