PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The ADG5212/ADG5213 contain four independent single-pole/single-throw (SPST) switches. The ADG5212 switches turn on with Logic 1. The ADG5213 has two switches with digital control logic similar to that of the ADG5212; however, the logic is inverted on the other two switches. Each switch conducts equally well in both directions when on, and each switch has an input signal range that extends to the supplies. In the off condition, signal levels up to the supplies are blocked.

The ADG5212 and ADG5213 do not have a VL pin. The digital inputs are compatible with 3 V logic inputs over the full operating supply range.

The ultralow capacitance and charge injection of these switches make them ideal solutions for data acquisition and sample-and-hold applications, where low glitch and fast settling are required. Fast switching speed together with high signal bandwidth make the parts suitable for video signal switching.

The ADuM347x Family are quad-channel, digital isolators with an integrated PWM controller and transformer driver for an isolated dc-to-dc converter. Based on the Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler® technology, the dc-to-dc converter provides up to 2 W of regulated, isolated power at 3.3 V to 24 V from a 5.0 V input supply or from a 3.3 V supply.

This eliminates the need for a separate, isolated dc-to-dc converter in 2 W isolated designs.

The iCoupler chip-scale transformer technology is used to isolate the logic signals, and the integrated transformer driver with isolated secondary side control provides higher efficiency for the isolated dc-to-dc converter.

The result is a small form factor, total isolation solution.

The ADM3053 is an isolated controller area network (CAN) physical layer transceiver with an integrated isolated dc-to-dc converter.

The ADM3053 complies with the ISO 11898 standard.

The device employs Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler® technology to combine a 2-channel isolator, a CAN transceiver, and Analog Devices isoPower® dc-to-dc converter into a single SOIC surface mount package. An on-chip oscillator outputs a pair of square waveforms that drive an internal transformer to provide isolated power. The device is powered by a single 5 V supply realizing a fully isolated CAN solution.

The ADM3053 creates a fully isolated interface between the CAN protocol controller and the physical layer bus. It is capable of running at data rates of up to 1 Mbps.

The device has current limiting and thermal shutdown features to protect against output short circuits. The part is fully specified over the industrial temperature range and is available in a 20-lead, wide-body SOIC package.

The ADM3053 contain isoPower® technology that uses high frequency switching elements to transfer power through the transformer. Special care must be taken during printed circuit board (PCB) layout to meet emissions standards.

The AD8218 is a high voltage, high resolution current shunt amplifier. It features a set gain of 20 V/V, with a maximum ±0.35% gain error over the entire temperature range. The buffered output voltage directly interfaces with any typical converter. The AD8218 offers excellent input common-mode rejection from 4 V to 80 V. The AD8218 performs bidirectional current measurements across a shunt resistor in a variety of industrial and telecom applications, including motor control, battery management, and base station power amplifier bias control.

The AD8218 offers breakthrough performance throughout the −40°C to +125°C temperature range. It features a zero-drift core, which leads to a typical offset drift of ±100 nV/°C throughout the operating temperature range and the common-mode voltage range. Special attention is devoted to output linearity being maintained throughout the input differential voltage range of 0 mV to ~250 mV. The AD8218 also includes an internal 80 mV reference that can be enabled for optimal dynamic range in unidirectional current sense applications. The typical input offset voltage is ±50 μV.

The AD8218 is offered in an 8-lead MSOP package.

Analog Devices introduced what it called the industry’s first 3-gigahertz HDMI receiver to support advanced 3-D and HD video content.

SAN FRANCISCO—Aiming to offer a silicon solution for next- generation home audio/video systems that must support the higher data rates required for emerging 3-D and HD sports, movie and broadcast content, Analog Devices Inc. (ADI) Wednesday (May 4) introduced what it called the industry’s first 3-gigahertz HDMI receiver for advanced television solutions.

The new dual input receiver supports High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) specification version 1.4a support, 3-D display resolutions and extended colorimetry, said ADI (Norwood, Mass.). According to Lie Dou, ADI product marketing manager for digital video products, unlike 2.26 GHz ICs, ADI’s ADV7619 3-GHz, dual-port receiver, meets performance requirements for 3-D 1080p at 60 Hz for more realistic fast motion sports content and 4K x 2K—4,000 by 2,000 pixels—for the high-end resolution used by digital cinemas, by some industry experts to be the next frontier in home theater displays.

The ADV7619, a member of ADI’s Advantiv TV solutions portfolio, is a single-chip solution that delivers the HDMI and fast switching performance needed to quickly bring new products to market, including home theater-in-a-box systems, AV receivers, high-bit-rate TVs, matrix switches and sound bar speaker systems, according to ADI.

According to market research firm In-Stat, , HDMI has continued as the dominant interface in consumer electronics devices, particularly DTVs, Blu-ray and DVD players and recorders, AV receivers, and game consoles.

Brian O’Rourke, principal analyst for digital entertainment at In-Stat said 3-D and 4K x 2K resolutions are the future of HD video. "Next-generation, 3-GHz-capable HDMI receivers, such as Analog Device’s ADV7619, enable designs to achieve the increased performance of 3 GHz, while ensuring backward compatibility with existing AV designs," O’Rourke said.

The ADV7619 incorporates ADI’s proprietary Xpressview fast switching technology, which enables automatic switching between multiple HDMI-enabled AV systems in less than one second, according to the firm. The ADV7619 offers an on-chip CEC (consumer electronics component) controller, an integrated audio codec, support for HDCP (high-bandwidth digital content protection) 1.4 and complete audio support of S/PDIF (Sony/Philips digital interface format) for compressed audio, including Dolby Digital and DTS; and 2-channel I2S audio for transmitting stereo at sample rates up to 192 kHz, the company said.

The ADV7619 also allows for optional inclusion of embedded key support for HDCP 1.4 content protection, ADI said.

The ADV7619 is compatible with other Analog Devices components, including Advantiv switches, Blackfin and SHARC processors, ADI’s SoundMAX portfolio of audio algorithms and codecs, and ADI’s power-management ICs, the company said.

The ADV7619 is sampling now and will be in full production availability in June, priced at $7.09 per unit in 1,000 unit quantities, ADI said. The devices are available in 14 mm by 14 mm thermally enhanced thin quad flat pack (TQFP) packages, ADI said.
