Mansfield, Texas, USA — March 24, 2011 – Mouser Electronics, Inc., regarded as a top global engineering
design resource for semiconductors and electronic components, today announced it is stocking new product
from Microchip Technology.
The Microchip Technology DV164133 XLP 16-bit Energy Harvesting Development Kit
is the first customizable energy harvesting application development kit.
The Microchip Technology DV164133 XLP 16-bit Energy Harvesting Development Kit
includes a modular development board populated with the PIC24F16KA102
eXtreme Low Power microcontroller
and the capability to add PICtail™ daughter boards
forthe rapid evaluation of a wide variety of system functions,
including ZigBee® and proprietary wireless connectivity,
and SD memory cards. Supported PICtail module
options include RF, SD/MMC Cards, and more.
The PIC MCU’s eXtreme Low Power technology allows users to gain the longest possible operation
from the included Cymbet EnerChip™ EH Eval-08 Energy Harvesting Board. The Energy Harvesting Board
harvests solar energy that is then stored in the EnerChip solid-state, rechargeable energy-storage devices.
Powered only by light, this Microchip XLP Energy Harvesting Development Kit enables rapid prototyping of
low power applications such as RF sensors, temperature/environmental sensors, utility meters, remote
controls, and security sensors.
