Silicon Labs’ new EFM32™ Zero Gecko 32-bit microcontroller (MCU)

is the industry’s most energy-friendly MCU based on the ARM® Cortex®-M0+ processor.


The latest addition to the EFM32 Gecko portfolio includes 16 cost-effective MCU products

designed from the ground up to enable the lowest possible energy consumption

for connected devices enabling the Internet of Things.


The Zero Gecko offers a sophisticated energy management system, power-saving precision analog peripherals,

a secure AES encryption and is supported by Simplicity Studio,

a complimentary software suite that provides instant, one-click access to all EFM32 tools.

EFM32 Zero Gecko is an ideal solution for power-sensitive,

battery-powered wireless applications.

» 0.9 μA standby current consumption in deep sleep mode with a 32.768 kHz RTC (ultra-fast 2 µs wakeup from standby)

» Active mode power consumption down to 110 µA/MHz at 24 MHz with real-world code executed from flash

» 10 nA current consumption in shut-off mode and 900 nA in deep sleep mode

» Autonomous peripherals continue to operate while in sleep mode and can maximize the amount of time spent in the low-power mode

» Peripheral Reflex System enables interconnection of internal peripherals without CPU intervention, significantly enhancing system-level energy efficiency

» Integrated IDAC eliminates the need for external power amplifier components for many cost-sensitive applications
