The Axxia 5500 family of communication processors by LSI accelerates performance and increase power efficiency for multi-radio base stations and 4G/LTE-capable wireless networks.

The Axxia 5500 family of communication processors by LSI accelerates performance and increase power efficiency for multi-radio base stations and 4G/LTE-capable wireless networks.

The family is the first to use 16 ARM cores with LSI’s networking accelerators.

The result is allowing networking service provides enhanced and intelligent wireless capabilities through base stations, cell site routers, gateways and mobile backhaul equipment.

The family will include a range of processors with different core counts and throughput with 16 ARM Cortex™-A15 cores using ARM’s CoreLink CCN-504 low-latency interconnect in 28nm process technology.

LSI provides a comprehensive tool suite and production-quality wireless application enabling software.

The LSI Axxia platform targets OEMs to meet accelerated time-to-market goals and efficiently leverage their development resources for emerging heterogeneous network architectures.
