Nook Tablet Gets Android 4.0 OS

Following the release of many tablets featuring the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system recently and the original Android tablet Motorola Xoom getting the update over the weekend, the Nook Tablet is also getting the update now.

The tablet can run the latest ICS OS, via popular firmware, Cyanogen Mod 9, an open-source firmware distribution.

Developers have started uploading pics of their Nook tablet running ICS rooted through Mod 9.

The tablet from Barnes & Noble comes originally with e-reading and browsing options.

Users also have access to B&N online store for downloading apps.
